I.       Curriculum Vitae

Hou Siyu, male, born in Lingchuan, Shanxi Province, Ph.D., professor. In recent years, I have been engaged in the research of molecular breeding of coarse grains. The main work is as follows: The chemical mutagens were used to mutate the germplasm of foxtail millet,broomcorn millet,tartary buckwheat and other miscellaneous grain crops, screen out many excellent mutant resources such as dwarf, male sterility, high rutin content, multiple tillers, and improved seed setting rate, and further explore its molecular mechanism; Based on functional genomics, the genome segments and loci associated with the quality traits of foxtail millet germplasm resources are deeply explored; Based on the transcriptome level, the molecular mechanism of biosynthesis pathway and gene regulation of multiple functional nutrients in coarse grain crops was studied, such as the folate biosynthesis pathway of foxtail millet, the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway of tartary buckwheat and the phosphorus absorption and transportation in the body of broomcorn millet plants. ④ Based on the principle of genetics, the geographical origin, genetic diversity and evolutionary characteristics of broomcorn millet, tartary buckwheat and other coarse grain crops were studied.

III.   Overview of Teaching and Research

In the past five years, I have presided over five national and provincial-level projects and two school-level projects, including one task of the national key R&D program, participated in four projects of China-EU international cooperation and national natural fund; edited one monograph, co-edited one undergraduate textbook for higher education institutions; published more than 80 articles, including 22 SCI papers, mainly published in internationally renowned journals such as Nature Plants, Molecular Plant, PNAS, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Frontiers in Plant Science and BMC Plant Biology. In addition, I have served as a reviewer for SCI journals such as Frontiers in Plant Science, BMC Plant Biology and Molecular Breeding. I am currently one of the members of Shanxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Minor Crops Genes and Molecular Breeding, one of the members of Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Team for Foxtail Millet and Broomcorn Millet Gene Resources Exploration and Molecular Breeding. One of the members of Huang Danyan-style teacher team at Shanxi Agricultural University.
